Cookies vs. local storage

Cookies are small files a website asks your browser to store, often sent back to the server on every request. This site doesn't use cookies for its own features. Instead it uses your browser's local storage — data that stays on your device and is never sent anywhere — which is the more appropriate tool for the kind of thing this site remembers: a display preference you've chosen, or whether you've allowed the Google Calendar embed below to load.

Third-party content

The Parish Calendar page embeds a live Google Calendar — but it's opt-in. You'll see a placeholder with a "Load calendar" button instead of the calendar itself until you choose to load it. Once you do, your browser fetches content directly from Google, which may set its own cookies under Google's own policies — this is outside our control and isn't covered by this policy. See Google's Cookie Policy for details. No other page on this site embeds third-party content.

Managing your preferences

Click "Cookie preferences" in the footer of any page to allow or block the Google Calendar embed at any time.

To clear everything listed above, clear this site's data through your browser's settings (usually under Privacy → Site settings, or Clear browsing data). This also resets your theme choice back to following your system's setting, and the calendar embed back to opt-in.
